I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Certain homes evoke a feeling in me. This home for instance screams winter. Grab a cup of cocoa, a good book, and a blanket to wrap around your shoulders and I would be ready to settle in for the cold months. Do certain homes do this to you too or am I just weird?
{via Southern Living}
I posted this home when it was recently up for sale in my area. I was beyond excited when I started flipping through the March issue of Southern Living and found the same kitchen featured. The home is owned or was owned by the features editor Jessica Thuston. She really created a kitchen of my dreams. Yes, it's small, but I prefer small. Oh, and seeing another view of the dining room has me wanting a table just like that to paint. This issue is definitely worth picking up if you don't already have it. There hasn't been a day that has gone by that haven't picked up since receiving it in the mail.

As you all may remember I have a slight addiction to pillows, well this is the newest addition to our home. I found this pillow cover from Elegant Touch on Etsy and I must say I am smitten. She was a doll to work with. I needed a special size and she was more than accommodating. The price was great as is the craftsmanship. Now I just wished I ordered another to combine shipping, oh well. Here are a few more I loved from her shop...
I will definitely be working with her again.
*Also I would like to say thank you to A Spoonful of Dish for awarding me the Happy Award. Upon receiving the award you list 10 things that make you happy. Here is a post from when I was featured on Wide Open Spaces on my 10 happy things.
My husband is one sneaky man. Friday morning he handed me an envelope with a sweet note telling me to pack a bag for the night. At the same moment my sister showed up to watch the kiddos. While riding in the car he handed me another envelope with a print out of the hotel we were staying, the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta. He say's he choose this hotel because he thought I would love the design which I did. As we neared the hotel he handed me another envelope with a good amount of money to spend on whatever I fancied. Needless to say we had a blast and I felt beyond special. I am quite smitten with my man I must say.
Oh, and what did I buy? I fabulous dress from Club Monaco and an insane amount Ribba frames for a new gallery wall we are working on. I will share both soon. I even have money left over for future desires, so fun.
I just love a good surprise although I am not too keen on waiting for one when I know there is one to be had. My husband has been teasing me with a so called surprise for the last couple of weeks now. He says this is the weekend for me to get it. My skin is crawling with excitement. He says its not only good, but really good. He knows me well and I am already certain I will love it. I will be sure to share next week. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Oh, and I almost forgot how much I love having fresh flowers in the house. They really can brighten up the dreariest of days.
I adore this beach home in Oregon. Recently sold for a mere 1.5 mil, ha. I wouldn't mind rolling out of bed and have a warm cup of tea while taking in the breathtaking views. I am a cottage kind of girl and this one would fit me to a tee.

Thank you to Deb of Deb & Air for the award of being one of the 10 bloggers that brighten her day. I feel special.
I won this fabulous Caroline Joy cardigan from Federica of Sweet as a Candy. I like to think if I ever needed a place to stay in Italy she would welcome me with open arms. I am sure she would not think I was some sort of loon, ha! Anyway, Caroline Joy takes cardigans that have had a "previous life" and then give them a second chance with added detail. I was a little nervous about the quality of cardigan with a previous life, but this one is perfection. It is extremely soft and such a yummy plum color. She has such an eye for detail and I could not be anymore thrilled.
Oh, and this is me and my Ellie. That boo boo on her chin is from leaning on a pan that just came out of the oven, yikes.
Thank you Federica and Caroline Joy for such a precious gift that I am sure will get so much wear.
We finally figured out how to use our gas fireplace thanks to this lovely lady and her husband. We have used it a few times since, but have heard in order to keep it running the gas bill adds up quick. I rather like this idea of piling it up with wood. Very homey feeling and pretty.

Part of my New Year resolutions was to learn how to cook and it seems I have developed a passion for it. Granted I am still no pro, but at least I am enjoying myself and others seem to like it. What more can I ask for? Well, I have decided that if I continue on my quest and become a kitchen guru then I will treat myself to some of these goodies...
1. Goldtouch Bakeware / 2. Santoku Knife / 3. Silpat Liner / 4. Mixing Bowls / 5. Immersion Blender / 6. Recipe Box
I am completely humiliated to admit that I do not have a blog post today due to my recent and embarrassing need to read this saga. I was the girl who said I would never even pick one up. Well that all changed when all of my girlfriends were going to see New Moon. Although the movie was somewhat cheesy I had to find out what happened next. Then soon after I lost interest again. Fast forward to a few nights ago and hubby went out and I was bored out of mind and I happened to have my sisters copy of Eclipse sitting on the bookshelf. Well, let's just say it's been hard to put down and now I have to head to the book store to find out the ending. Yes, I am Paula and am completely addicted to the saga.
Look now I even have a blog post, well, sort of. Have a great weekend. I will be reading.
Style at Home editor Erin McLaughlin made this gorgeous cottage into her own after a gut renovation. Although I shy away from bold colors I love how her pieces look in otherwise neutral spaces. I would welcome the sofa with open arms. The use of art adds such a personal touch that I just adore. Most people would have used the kitchen nook as a place to dine, but I love how she made it an area to relax. We currently did this in our own home and it works perfectly for us. Well, I am sure I could use the word "love" again and again for this space so I will just stop while I am ahead.

Jackie was the first to turn me onto Gryphon and I have not been able to get them out of my mind. So feminine yet with an edge. I am absolutely smitten with this long dress from their spring 2010 line...
I am thinking this would make an amazing 30th birthday party dress, but since this shorter number comes in at a lovely $575.00 I am thinking it will be a no go.
I am thinking my sewing skills are going to have improve greatly in the next 7 months to pull this one off.
These would make lovely spots to perch when extra seating is needed. They can easily make side tables, sit at a foot of the bed, or sit under an entry way table for when they are not in use. I personally wound not mind having the first one's strewn on the floor for everyday use. I am sure my kiddos would love that too.

It's that time again for my Coastal Living review. The cover had me at hello with the bright pink umbrella. I honestly haven't been able to put this issue down due to this villa in Round Hill, Jamaica. The design was done by Meg Braff.
I think it is time for a luxury vacation, any one else in? To see more images of this great villa go here.
My husband has also has mentioned going on a cruise once or twice and they have a great write up in the magazine that caters to your style and what cruise would fit you best. Maybe one day, well that's if I can get over my fear of water, yikes.
So you must already know I have an addiction to chairs and lamps. Well, my addiction furthers to pillows. These have caught my eye as of late...
Gray paired with gold is one of my favorite color combos. Pieces do you know how much I love you?
You may be my newest crush. Neutral with a great graphic pattern.
Hello beautiful. You would make any sofa stand out.
This lovely I won from Head Over Heels. Love Nelya and her blog.
Eddie Ross made these beauties from vintage scarves. I am thinking this is a must do.
Yes, my taste in pillows may be expensive and no I can not really afford all these lovelies, but this one makes it to the list and is affordable!
Considering my life change to simplify all these must stay as crushes. I will admire you all from afar, but do know I love you.
I am not one to really watch award shows or TV for that matter, but I do enjoy seeing all the gowns around blog land. I am sure everyone has already seen Kate Hudson at the Sag awards, but really I can not get over how stunning she looks. I think she is a doll, granted I don't really know her, but in my head she is a doll.

I know I so sweetly asked my husband if I could paint the cabinets, well, I am second guessing myself. My husband has almost given me the go ahead, but also so kindly reminded me that I said no big projects for this year (except tiling the backsplash and reupholstering our dining chairs). At first that didn't matter, but the more I ponder the more I realize how big of a project this really is. I then came across these images with cabinets the same shade as mine (although mine are not as fabulous) with the white subway tile and I love them. Maybe for the time being I should just be happy with what I got, my cabinets are only a few years old and in great condition. Oh, how my mind can change so easily. Let's just see how I feel next week.

I rather like this little nest bowl. Love the natural mixed with gold. I have been eying it for awhile now. I think it would look lovely on my dining room table as it also would on Brad Ford's table that was featured in Lonny...
