Happy Thanksgiving!

I had grand plans of posting a gift guide, some things I have been working on, etc. Alas the little fella has the flu. So instead I am signing off for the week to focus on him. I did not want to sign off before wishing all my USA folks a Happy Thanksgiving though!!! Hope this is a blessed start to the holiday season for everyone!!!

Last month we had the pleasure to shoot a reception at the Wynfield estates in Montgomery, AL. It was dark by the time we arrived from the ceremony, so needless to say shooting pictures in the dark is hard. I still thought they were worth a share though. The Estate was owned by the Blount family and after being passed down generations the upkeep became to much. They donated the estate to the state in hopes the governor may live there. Since then two governor's have held office and both have decided to stay in the governor's mansion. It sat as is for some time until they decied to allow weddings to be held there. You can't go in the main house, but the estate and conservatory is up for use. The conservatory was actually done by Bobby McAlpine and Greg Tankersley. You can see the original set up here. Let's just say I was in high heaven every moment I got to spend to here. It is AMAZING!

Living Large {well trying to}

As I pass by our coat rack/cubbies/mud room shelf thing I always ponder a way to keep the kids "stuff" more organized. Although I love it, the hooks are a bit high for the kids and it becomes the landing spot for EVERYTHING. I do like that it's contained, but I would also love to keep it up off the seat part a little more and keep myself from continually walking by and hanging things up. I am thinking that maybe a child size coat rack could do the trick. This would at least give them a spot for school coats and backpacks. It could sit right next to the shelf piece, maybe where the umbrella stand currently is. I am always trying to make our little home live large. Really one extra closet would/could do the trick. To keep the coat rack blending into our home I would go for the gray or white, but the bright pink could be quite fun too!
