A Touch of Fall

 I am head over heels with the fact that it is actually starting to feel a bit like fall here in the south. Nothing like mums, pumpkins, and good smelling candle to celebrate my favorite season. These will all remain out till the day after Thanksgiving and then Christmas will be on the agenda. This year I am thinking about keeping it simple, really simple, but for now I will bask in the fact that it is finally fall!

A New Skirt {Shabby Apple}

I was quite excited when Shabby Apple asked if I would like to try out an item from their new line. They sent me this pretty little skirt, but too be honest at first I was worried the length wouldn't work for me. I am quite petite at 5'3 on a really good day. It all changed though once I actually slipped it on. I think the length works just fine on me and made me feel quite ladylike and lovely. Of course I had to rough it up a bit to fit my style so I paired it with a chambray shirt and bold necklace from J.Crew.

Oh, and remember this dress? It is from Shabby Apple too. I posted it over a year ago and still see it floating around blogs and pinterest. I think it is just a hoot when I come across myself. ha. It's also from a time when I used to get a lot of comments. hmm...

Dreaming {a dining room}

I am still dreaming of our new home. No, we haven't found the one yet, but there is one that I do love. It is a new build that has yet to actually be built. The plans do fit every part of our wish list though. The Mr. did throw out the idea of possibly buying land again. This would be a dream for me, but if we do go this route then it will still be a few years out till we actually do get to build so that way we could pay off the land first. I am so okay with that too. I think it would be fun to build the latter home on our own land one day. If that were to happen then I could easily see myself decorating the dining space just like this. It would look great with the raw wood beams that would encase the doorways.
