As you can see I finally picked up our good camera to snap a few pics around the house, so I figured this week could be dedicated to house updates. I know I mentioned the purge before, but had yet to share since a bunch of now empty drawers and baskets are anticlimactic. There are a few spaces that leave me feeling happy though. I already shared the entry earlier this week and today I thought I would share the hall closet. As for the before just imagine a heaping mess. It's where I stuck items that I had no idea what to do with. I thought it was prime time to actually have it serve it's purpose as a coat closet. I mean it's only been six years. Now when it's open it doesn't make my head spin and having a spot for everything makes the kiddos more inclined to use it. The basket on the door is for winter hats and gloves. The bottom basket is for ball caps. I also now keep my tall boots and Ellie's riding gear in here leaving the entry more organized. The best part is that I already owned all the organizational items. A free project is always the best project.
The Entry Way
If you can recall I mentioned a BIG purge throughout the house. It has been freeing in so many ways. Before the purge I made a board with ideas for more storage for this space, but after the purge I decided we no longer needed it. The lamp I found just didn't feel right in the space so back it went even though I did love it. The basket is mostly empty too! Has the kids balls that they use outside and that's all. As for the tabletop the art remained, a plant was relocated here for some added life, the small box holds keys, and a every entry needs a good smelling candle. As for everything else it was either moved or put into the sell/giveaway pile. I rather like the simplier look and it makes dusting so much easier. I also laid the Flor tiles and I am smitten with them. It really hides the dirt which surprised me since it is such a light color. The light fixture has been needing to be hung for over a year now. It's missing the little dohicky that screws it to the ceiling. I am determined to get it hung this month though! I bought it from Tammy Connor at a local show. It is her custom design and I instanlty fell head over heels for it.
Easter
It's never too late to break out the Easter decor is it? I finally got the urge and thought it would be fun to have a few things out when the kiddos got home from school. I kept it really simple and the kiddos are aware that Easter is more than bunnies, but they are so very cute. I bought them a couple years back from Pier 1 so this is nothing new to long time readers. I am a creature of habit I suppose, but if it's not broke why fix it? HA.
Gives me chills every time...
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
