I was rather nervous with the freeze we had last week. My garden already started to bloom and I was weary that I may loose her. Alas she is going strong! The kiddos and I are loving that our backyard has become somewhat of a bird sanctuary. We have all sorts of types come through daily and we even have a number of nests in bird houses and among our climbing roses. Both the Mr and I have had quite the shock when working on the roses and birds come flying out. I for one will let them be and the kiddos are eager to see if they hatch babies. One of our new additions is a Kenroy Home birdbath. It's at a great price point and the quality is ever so good. It kind of reminds me of something Restoration Hardware would carry. I think the birds are happy too. My papa currently is building me a sofa for under the pergola and I am giddy. My only specification was that it was nap worthy. HA. I will share once I have the patio all set up. The kitchen garden is starting to sprout and the strawberries made it through the winter thankfully. I believe I may never leave the backyard this summer. Who wants to join me? I'll even make desserts. Paleo mind you, but still yummy none the less.

Here's a peek at last years garden.

A Coat Closet

As you can see I finally picked up our good camera to snap a few pics around the house, so I figured this week could be dedicated to house updates. I know I mentioned the purge before, but had yet to share since a bunch of now empty drawers and baskets are anticlimactic. There are a few spaces that leave me feeling happy though. I already shared the entry earlier this week and today I thought I would share the hall closet. As for the before just imagine a heaping mess. It's where I stuck items that I had no idea what to do with. I thought it was prime time to actually have it serve it's purpose as a coat closet. I mean it's only been six years. Now when it's open it doesn't make my head spin and having a spot for everything makes the kiddos more inclined to use it. The basket on the door is for winter hats and gloves. The bottom basket is for ball caps. I also now keep my tall boots and Ellie's riding gear in here leaving the entry more organized. The best part is that I already owned all the organizational items. A free project is always the best project.

New Stools

I have been wanting these stools ever since they came out. I won a gift card so I knew it was time to finally snatch them up. Currently they are floating around the house spot to spot. They look good everywhere! I am completely smitten really.
