The Kids Bath

This bath was made for kids. It is petite in everyway. The Mr even has to duck in the door. This space has gone through some simple changes. The most apparent is that now it's clean! Ha. You can see the before here. We painted the walls talc by Martha Stewart just like the rest of the house. Took down the bath cabinet and I swear it makes this space feel 100% bigger. Changed out the mirror and light fixture. Added a simple roman from Home Depot for texture. The shower curtain was a bit of a splurge, but it was the feel I was wanting. Not too kiddie, but still fun in everyway without being too girlie or too boy oriented. The sign I had in the kids old bath. The stool and bath mat were Home Goods finds. The basket used to be in KJ's room but now serves as a laundry basket. The hooks are West Elm. Looking at this photo I guess the back wall could use a piece of art, but the door mostly stays open so maybe not. The only wish I have for this bath is that the floors were not white tile. They are slippery when wet and show EVERYTHING. It's a constant battle trying to make it look clean.Besides that I am quite pleased with the way it turned out!

A Big Day

Today was our first day at our new school. Ellie is going into 3rd and KJ 2nd. They were so excited! I can tear up at a drop of a hat currently, but I am truly overjoyed with our new adventure. It was a God given plan that we were not expecting, but seeing it come to fruition is kind of sweet. Our old school was small and the people felt like family. The Mr even worked in the same building. Now they are off on to new experiences like having free dress, a library, music class, and the like. I am grateful for this new season and grateful I got to experience the old. Now to get KJ to read.

Ellie: Dress | shoes | and I swear by these for all her dresses

KJ: shorts | shoes | tee {osh kosh outlet}

Final big project complete!

The final big project on the interior was completed last night and I could not be any more giddy. Well, at least until major renovation that may or may not happen years down the road. The carpet was installed on the stairs and the railing put back up. It truly helps make the space look finished and is much safer. These are just quick iphone photos so it is hard to tell, but there is a pattern throughout on the light gray carpeting. It makes leading up to the kids space a bit more fun without being over the top since technically this is not my house and only a rental. I will be sure to grab better photos once I start pulling the space together more.

Now I am contemplating making the railing black or staining them a deeper color. I think it would make it feel a tad more modern and clean. Here are a couple images that have my head spinning...
